Я здесь уже спрашивал, но как-то вскользь. Сейчас приведу выдержки из этой Хроники, где bordon упоминается. Такое впечатление, что это меч (причем популярный, например, у французов), но какой-то специфический:

he (knight) threw down the bordon he was carrying and surrendered to her, and she took the bordon (женщина берет в плен рыцаря, застав его врасплох)

you might have seen blows of darts and lances, and, on the side of the French, blows of bordons. (бой у Брундизия вокруг упавшего адмирала, интересно, что рядом с bordon-ом не упоминают мечи или булавы, т.е., насколько я понимаю, bordon был достаточно распространен)
